Rooted in Light: About Yus
Healing loudly. Living fully. Rooted in who I am.
I’ve always loved sharing life’s beauty—through a positive lifestyle, a love for makeup, beauty pageants, good food, creativity, and meaningful connection.
But life has a way of surprising us.
In early 2025, I was diagnosed with stage II ovarian cancer after a large cyst revealed two types of cancer cells. I underwent major surgery and chemotherapy, navigating treatment far from my home country, Singapore, in the south of France. Through it all, I found strength in my husband’s unwavering love, and in the care and encouragement of family, friends, and those holding me in their thoughts and prayers.
Not long after, I faced another unexpected diagnosis: lung cancer. Two months ago, I underwent lung surgery successfully, and I am now in the healing and recovery phase, learning patience, honoring my body, and embracing a slower, softer rhythm of life.
This journey has slowed life down, brought hard days, and called for deep reflection but it has not taken away who I am.
Lipstick and Light is my space to stay grounded, to celebrate joy and beauty, and to share healing honestly and boldly.
It’s a reminder to myself and maybe to you—that even in the hardest times, we can still shine, still feel like ourselves, and still take life one step at a time.
Still me. Still healing. Still shining.
